View Full Version : 【Bug】 Foxit PDF Reader Not Responding

Foxit PDF Reader 3 - Build 1301

When closing the Reader, either by clicking the red cross or via File/Exit in the menu, I get either an Application not responding or Please send crash report message.

I have seen this bug reported in other threads but not yet seen a response.

This only appears to happen after editing a document, saving it then closing the application.

To prevent this occuring, I have found that if I wait for the hard drive activity light on the PC to go off, then after a further few seconds close the reader the errors do not show.

Developer Request
Can we have a Saving, Please wait... message while saving to let the user know that the programme is busy.
And maybe a loop that prevents programme shut-down until saving is complete.

Cheers
~Mike~

Thanks for your post. That sounds something incorrect. Are you saving a big file? Can you please provide us a file sample and let us know your Operation system?

Hi Christina, Thanks for your response. :1_11:

It is a large file..240 Pages, 212Mb with many Bookmarks and links.
My Platform is;
XP Prof with SP3.
IP35 Chipset
P4 Q6600 Core2 Quad
4Gb RAM

In my opinion, the problem is caused by the natural length of time required to save such a large file.
The reason for posting here, is to share my work-arounds with fellow users until an application fix is released.

I have submitted a Crashlog report via a support ticket and have received a response.

Also;-
If after editing the PDF, an attempt to close the application is made, the Do You Want To Save Changes message appears. By clicking Yes, the PDF is saved and after a few seconds the application closes without error.

Have a good Day
~Mike~
