Foxit Reader 3.0 is not rendering documents when maximized after it was working for a long time (day/days).

I'm using foxit reader for quite long for viewing PDF files and I'm quite happy - Thanks!

I found a problem in v3(v2 is also affected as I remember) - Steps to reproduce are not available as it happens sporadicly.

After using the reader for a day( or more) after one moment it stops rendering when maximized (screen resolution 1280x1024). In this case when Reader window is resized at certain size or less it is working again, but changing the size to bigger or mazimize the window causes the problem rendering. By problem rendering I mean - document is not displayed but the grafical context (other program windows) are displayed inside the foxit reader window - although it is possible to use select some text lines from the opened document - selection appears as black lines (selected text not visible).
After closing Foxit reader and opening a document again the problems still exists !!!

Made an experiment changing screen resolution to 1024x768 or 800x600 and the reader was working even maximized.

And one minor suggestion - closing a tab with middle mouse button would be a usefull feature.

Thanks for your posting. What's your operation system? I will forward it to our tester team for further investigation. Hopefully they can manage to reproduce it.

Thanks. There are other people requested this feature. I will add your comment to the list.

WinXP Pro SP2.
At the moment I have the foxit reader with the problem rendering present, so free to ask me any info untill my system is restarted (at least a couple of days the system will be on).

Oh, that's great! Can you please make certain screenshots for us, or it's better to make a video on this issue?

Was not able to take a screenshot using PrtScr of Foxit Reader (paste image was black).
Foxit Reader started to work with some PDF files an hour ago, but the rest documents were shown as on attached picture. Now again all documents that I open are shown corrupeted maximized (or when foxit windows is big - as shown on the picture).

Ok. Thanks. Are there many files running in the Reader window? Can you please provide us your computer info by the following tool?
www.foxitsoftware.com/tools/getcomputerinfo.exe.

BTW, there a free video file - Screen2exe that is easy to record onscreen changes.

I have a problem with this as well. It seems to occur when I have many documents open at once. In other situations I've had problems with Foxit running concurrently with other image-intensive programs like IE, VNC, MATLAB (simulations), NX Client, etc.

I was able to reproduce it using a set of four PDFs. I've attached these to this reply, along with a screenshot of an attempted maximization.

I'm running a licensed version Foxit Reader version 3.0 1506.

WinXP SP3
2GB RAM
Two monitors

Thanks for the file. Unfortunately I could not reproduce this problem with the files. And from the screenshot, can not figure out the problem. It may be environment-based. Does it happen with one monitor on?
Would you like to help testing if I send you a version with log?

Thanks.

After some testing it is definitely not specific to any set of PDFs. It has to do with having a lot of screen resources used or something. I had to launch a lot of PDF windows to have the problems start occuring. Having screen-intensive applications open as well (like VNC, etc.) will also aggravate the problem.

I can test that logging version of Foxit, but you should also try opening a large number of documents at once > 15+ or have them open along with other applications that use the screen a bit.

That sounds log version would not help.
I will escalate this issue to our testing team. They will make full testing.
