View Full Version : 【Question】 Dell 1700n and default pages per sheet

I have a Dell 1700n and whenever I open a PDF and print it I get this crummy output with two pages on each sheet of paper. This is a great feature when you actually want multiple pages per sheet, but makes for a lousy default.
My printer preferences for the printer are set to 1 page per sheet and every app I use prints this way except Foxit Reader. I love Foxit Reader, but I hate trying to remember to go under printing preferences and change pages per sheet to 1 every time I want to print a PDF.
I'm missing some setting? Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I an idiot?
Answers to these burning questions are greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Jim

Hello Jim, which Foxit Reader version are you using? If not the latest version, please try it and let me know the result. Thanks.

Hello Jim, please try the following setting File->Print-> Print Handling-> Page Arrange, choose None.

Maggie means you shall be sure you didn't set two pages per sheet on Foxit Print dialog box.

Thank you for responding, I apologize for failing to reply. I thought I had configured this to email me when someone responded but I didn't receive any emails. I will check my profile address.
I'm using Foxit Reader 3.0 Build 1301, which I believe to be the latest version. The setting Print -> Print Handling -> Page Arrange is set to none. However, if I click Properties for the Printer "Pages per sheet" is 2, as shown in the attached screen shot.
This only happens in Foxit Reader and only when printing to the Dell printer. We have an HP and a Xerox as well.

Please open Printers and Faxes, right click on Dell Printer, select Printer Preferences, change Pages per sheet to 1. Then have a try.

I would swear that I checked this previously and it was set to 1 but I just checked it and it was set to 2. I changed it and tried again and it was back to 2. sigh.
I noticed that in the printer properties there was a "Printing Preferences" button on the "General" tab but there was also a "Printing Defaults" button on the "Advanced" tab. I'm pretty sure those are the same thing but I changed it under "Printing Defaults" and it seems fixed. Quite odd, but, whatever. I'm happy!
If the problems comes back I'll reply back to this thread.
Thank you for all your assistance!
