I jave foxit installed on a number of machines and recently pdf's created in adobe acrobat, which are opened and saved from within foxit are then only readable in foxit. When they are sent to someone with adobe reader on the machine, they come us as blank pages. they are not password protected, if someone could give me a hand with this, it would be greatly appreciarted because currently this is really detracting from the use of the software here, many many thanks

Which Foxit Reader version you are using to save the file? Please provide us a sample of your original pdf file (unsaved with Foxit) and a copy of the saved file. Thanks.

I'm getting the same symptomes. It happens either via double click or via the web BUT it only happens if I'm using above 80% of my RAM. If I minimize or close down programs Foxit starts to work again. I'm using current version of foxit on W2K server. The document is loaded but not displayed as I can search for words I know exist and the search counter shows the pages incrementing. So it looks to me as thought this is just a rendering problem. I'm a programmer with 20+ experience so if you'd like me to do something technical I'd like to help becuase foxit is soooo much better than adobe's bloatware

Hi spudwa, thanks.
Could you please help to make a video for us on this issue?
And also need your system info, please use the following tool to get it:
www.foxitsoftware.com/tools/getcomputerinfo.exe

Here's my computer info. Would screen shots suffice? What are you hoping to see on the video?
Had to laugh when I tried to upload the output from your getcomputerinfo prog. The file extension is not allowed and if I change it to txt the filesize is too big ;-)

Thanks for the info. It will be better if we could see the process of how Reader rendering the document in your machine.

I've been having same problem. I have downloaded PDF files that were likely created with Adobe Acrobat. I could open them in office PCs that all have Adobe Reader. When I open the same file in Foxit and subsequently try to open it with any Adobe software, I get errors or it turns up blank. Funny, I could 'jiggle' it by opening the file with Foxit Editor and making some insignificant edit then save the file. It will then open in Adobe.
This is driving me crazy. Recently, I created a brochure with Foxit Editor and checked it could open with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Nitro PDF and Preview and Skim on my Mac. Then I emailed the brochure to more than 200 people and most of them said it was blank! I had to 'jiggle' it as I described earlier before they could open it.
I've been using Foxit for years. I swear this is is new..like only a couple of months. I feel its got something to do with the current version of Foxit Reader

Sorry for this inconvenience. Could you please provide us a sample of the pdf file?

Christina, here is an example. This is a file I downloaded from here: media.americantelemed.org/conf/MidYear2008/Docs/Presentations_Pediatrics/Monday%20Track%202/4_Tsallis_Telesim.pdf
I have attached 2 versions of this file. The version named adobe.pdf has not been viewed with Foxit. I simply renamed it and I can view all the pages accurately with Adobe Reader 9.
The 2nd file, which I first renamed Foxit.pdf was opened with Foxit reader. Subsequently, I open it with Adobe Reader and nearly all the pages are blank. This one doesn't show any errors but it displays blank pages. In many cases, rather than showing a blank page there's an error message that Adobe cannot open the file.
Note that I have not attempted to modify the file in anyway other than renaming them (and I did the renaming in Windows Explorer, not by saving from the Reader).

Thanks for the files. I will report this issue to our Reader and Editor development team for further investigation.
Per your post #7and post #9, I have questions:
You didn't save as the file 'foxit.pdf ' with Foxit Reader, simply view the file with Foxit. Correct? (If so, that's pretty odd!)
Was the file edited by Foxit Editor?
Please let me know what error message you normally got in Adobe? Do you have a sample of this sort? Was it edited by any of our programs?

No, I did not do anything other than view with Foxit Reader.
However, as I stated in post #7, I have had cases where I had edited a file with Foxit editor and was able to open it in Foxit Reader, but not Adobe. And I have always been able to fix it by re-editing it with Foxit Editor, often making very minor changes, or simply "saving-as" a different filename.
I have attached 2 files. Hotels.pdf is a file that opens with Foxit but not Adobe, which shows the error message I captured in Adobe_error.jpg

This is mysterious!
If Foxit Reader only displays the file, it definitely won't make any changes to the file.
Do you have the original one with Hotels.pdf ?

Here is the original file. It will open in Adobe as long as it hasn't interacted with Foxit.
I just reproduced this puzzling behavior on my PC.
It's weird.

What's your Foxit Reader version number? We have been testing with the newest 1506, no problem
Are you using 2.3.3902? this is a known issue to this version with SAVE AS.

I upgraded to the latest version and also applied the latest Adobe updates. Yet, the issue persisted.
Here's how I cracked the problem: I completely uninstalled Foxit using Revouninstaller, choosing the option to remove every trace of the program. I restarted my system, and then installed the latest Foxit Reader. So far, the problem seems fixed (i.e. Adobe can now open files previously opened by the newly installed Foxit Reader, but not any files I had opened with the previous install).
So, I think my previous installation was somehow corrupted, and it required a complete installation, not a simple "upgrade", to fix it.
Thanks for your help.

I have been having the same issue for about 2-3 months now. I thought it was just me but it keeps on happening, so i started googling this today.
I have foxit installed on all our office PCs. We also have a network scanner that we use to scan documents (this is also a fax machine and e-mails all of our incoming faxes to us as PDFs). About 2-3 months ago I periodically started having multiple vendors and clients e-mailing back to us that the attachments we send them are blank. This does NOT happen with every PDF and it is very sporadic. I am trying to find a pattern but cant.
Here is my description: Our default pdf reader is foxit. PDF will open and look just fine in foxit. I e-mail said PDF to a client who I am assuming uses adobe. They e-mail me back and say its blank. I also have adobe on my machine, so I manually open with adobe reader and sure enough- it is blank.
I can continually open the pdf in Foxit just fine, but not in adobe. I open the PDF in nitro and then print it as a new pdf using "nitro pdf" and save as a new file name. The new file is readable by both foxit and adobe.
PLEASE HELP! This is driving us insane and making us look foolish to our clients!
Running windows XP pro- SP3
foxit reader version 2.2 build 2129
adobe reader version 8.12
Was there maybe an "update" to adobe recently that "broke" it for a lot of people???
Thanks.

Would you please send us a file sample for taking a look?
Also please upgrade to the newest version 3.0.1506, which shall not have this save problem.
