Why do Foxit give pdf files random names like opr0AYC2.pdf when saving from internet instead of using the actual file name?

I don't think this is controlled by Foxit Reader. Could you please give me a link to the pdf so I can test for sure.

Try this: http://people.opera.com/howcome/2005/ala/sample.pdf

When I use save as the file name that is suggested is opr0B04V.pdf instead of sample.pdf

I use Opera 9.63 and Foxit Reader 3.0 Build 1301

Edit: I tried Internet Explorer 7 now just for testing and Internet Explorer suggests the correct file name. It seems that it's Opera that is the cause of this.

This is the name of the file in Opera's cache, which presumably is what it is suggesting as the name. Presumably you have already opened the .pdf within Opera using the Foxit Firefox plugin and then subsequently try to save it? I download .pdf's all the time with Opera but have set it to save the file directly rather than try and open it, and it always saves with the correct filename. So what you have I expect is related to the Foxit plugin and its interface to Opera.

Thats correct, it's when I try to save a already opened pdf file.

Properly dsergeant is correct. Trevelyan, use 'Save As' file menu of Opera itself to save the file, you will have right file name. I will report this to our developement team for comfirming.
