View Full Version : Foxit does not recognizes diacritical symbols (āēīū) - and it still costs money.

Yes, I am surprised by that. It's like there's only English in the world. Diacritical symbols are used by many languages - why not make Foxit recognize it? Instead, when i search for diacritical symbol, it suggests a simple one. Well, it has to have warning on every checkout step, it can be essential to many people.

UPDATED: Foxit does recognize diacriticals, just udated - cool :1_11:
But it still does not show them in search results..

Could you please provide us a sample of the pdf contianing diacritical symbols?

But version 3.0 B1506 of Foxit Reader does not open documents with diacritical symbols in it's name. It says "Could not open file. File not found." I will try to attach that. It has "ī" in it's name - just delete that, and it will open normally. The same thing happens when you put a file (without diacritical in the name) in folder which contains diacriticals.

Thanks. This is a known issue due to unicode support problem.
The solution for it at this moment is to change languages for unicode program in the Control Panel/ Region and Language Options tab.
