Using PDF Editor v2.1.0 Build 0119

When I import a font it shows as "Non-embedded font" in the Font drop down list. On my computer the PDF prints out correctly but when I send the PDF to someone who doesn't have the particular font installed on their computer, another font is substituted.

So how do I embed a font (or a subset of a font) into a PDF document?

This would seem to be a standard requirement of any PDF Editor.

Also, when I import the font, I only see the Family font name in the list (in this case 'ITC Veljovic Std Medium'). The Family I have consists of Regular and Italic - but I see no way to select Italic in the Editor. How do I do this?

BTW, when I look in Windows fonts in the control panel I see 2 files, one for the Regular and one for the Italic.

We will support "embed font" in later versions. Currently you can use Foxit PDF Creator to embed that font to pdfs. Or, User "Convert to Path" feature to convert your text to path, so someone else can view it correctly even not have that font available. But be sure you have a copy for your document before converting to path, because it will nevert be converted back.

About the 'Import Font' ,I also find some opentype italic font can't be recognized by Editor. Could you please provide us a sample of your font in your case, so I can show to our developement team. Thanks.
Currently, please select the text and italicize text by Shear option in the Text Properties tab.

Hi,
When you embed a font and the viewer has a font with the same name installed on his system, even if the font is made by a different foundry, the PDF file will be read with his system fonts. The reason it's important to understand this point is that if you wish a viewer to view your document with your fonts, then you also need to subset your fonts, in addition to embedding.
