Amazon eBook format?

Amazon was making claims a bit ago that they were open to opening up their eBook format to any device that wanted to get on it. (Licensing fees probably) Which would make sense to me, it's be like a bookstore that everyone could get to no mater what eBook reader you had.

Anyway, I was curious if Foxit had considered/ looked into this possibility at all. I wander the line between PDFs and eBook content (50-50) and I'd rather NOT have to buy a Kindle2 and an eSlick (though I already have a pre-order on the eSlick) to get to do everything I'd like to do.

What do you think?

Great for Amazon and Kindle, but not a good deal for any other Ebook Reader Business.

This would destroy the image of the ability of your product. Equivalent of saying "All Hail the great Kindle by sharing a propietary format."

I don't work for Foxit but this idea isn't in their best interest to promote the eslick. Let Amazon be Amazon with Kindle and let Eslick be Foxit.

Thanks Jack. Actually Amazon probably won't plan to do this. They already have Mobipocket that is open to people. Also, Foxit will focus more on what we do best, PDF.
