View Full Version : 2 bugs I've noticed

1) When opening around 7 pdf's simultaneously via Explorer, Foxit starts to open them all then crashes. The pdf's are only around 300 kb each so this shouldn't be a problem. When I try to open 10, foxit crashes after 7 then reopens the other 3. If I set Foxit to use windows instead of tabs, there are no "crashes" (ie crash messages), but some of the windows are visible and don't show up in the taskbar.

2) Foxit doesn't respect the always-on-top flag of other windows. I have enable Virtual Desktop which has a small semi-transparent window set to always on top that shows me whats on my 6 virtual screens (and I can click it to get to one). Whenever foxit is maximized or covering the window, it disappears. This is highly annoying when I want to switch back and forth between my maximized firefox on 1 virtual desktop and maximized foxit on another virtual desktop.

I apologize if these have been reported already. I tried googling but didn't find anything.

Thanks for posting here.
1)Please let us know the method you used to open pdfs in Explorer. In my testing, I select all more than 10 pdfs, and right click to open them, find no crash, not matter tabs or multiple instances.

2) I don't quite understand this scenario. Would you please make a video to help us understand it?

Any questions, feel free to let us know. Thanks.

The 1st problem didn't happen the first time I recorded the video. I think this was because my computer was significantly slower while recording. So perhaps it has something to do with the pdfs opening too fast? I rerecorded the video again and the problem happened again. I tried throttling my cpu down to its lowest state and the problem still happened.

Image 1 shows normal transparency behavior (the tiny transparent always-on-top window on the right center). Image 2 shows the same scene after I open another pdf...the always-on-top is no longer respected.

So bug number 2 seems to only be reproducible after you open another pdf.

(I know my background says linux but this is XP SP3) If there's any more info you need from me, please let me know. I love foxit and want to help indentify any bugs I can.

Sorry, you're probably not equipped to open RAR compressed files. Here it is as a ZIP. File contains the crash video, crash log, and 2 images.
