I want to browse a folder of pdf files. I want a single keystroke to move from one document to the next, or back. It would be nice to also be able to move through a directory list, but not at the expense of readability of each file.

PowerDesk should do this, but the pdf rendering is so poor it is not usable.
Diskjockey File Viewer has a much better but still imperfect pdf viewer.
It is usable but not great.

A keyword search to limit the files displayed would be useful

Sorry, are you talking about browing files by Open dialog from Foxit? It allows you to use keystroke to search files and folders, doesn't it?
