Hello,
I have just switched from AcroReader to Foxit (FoxitReader234015, so 2.3 Build 4015, although it should be 3.0, right ? :) ) today, couldn't stand the hiccup at start (would pause for several seconds to search for updates - although disabled - or something auxilliary).
I have tested Foxit Reader a bit and it seems very very fine indeed, really faster - I also like the tabbed interface.
Only one little predicament stands within my total enjoyment of the product - The so-called "page count bar" (as in "8 of 12" for instance, two EditBoxes and of course the Zoom bar) is stuck to the bottom of the program, being considered as a StatusBar and not a moveable Toolbar as the other toolbars (File, Navigation, Rotate view etc. - as found in View Main Menu -> Toolbars).
That would make the transition to Foxit indeed seamless, thank you in advance !
In order to spare the greater forum of other two seemingly duplicated threads, two more issues I've encoutered : The ad setting is non-persistent, getting ads even after disabling it. And another smaller issue would be the lack of a small preference regarding the .pdf icon - being defaulted to a Foxit icon (I would prefer the old Ado. icon, got used to it). I have chased the issue in the registry (Vista, I know - no "File Types" tab..) and it seemed ok until the next reboot. I will see about this, consider it "low priority" :).
Thank you for your assistance and thank you for a fine product !
All the best,
Z.
