My system is XP-Home SP3. Foxit is set as the default PDF reader. Firefox sometimes opens Adobe Reader instead of Foxit. In at least this one case, IE opens Foxit but the Bookmarks don't work. (I have the Firefox PDF downloader add-in installed, but the problem occurs on another system without it.)
If anyone are interested in looking at the problem, here is a sequence to reproduce it. Hint ... Parker's website is TERRIBLE.
www.parker.com
select Division|Brand
select T
select Tube Fittings Division
select (right side) View Catalogs
you'll see 4 results; I'm working in the 3rd, Catalog 4300. Download usually returns an error; view opens Adobe Reader in Firefox. IE opens Foxit, but the "Bookmarks" which should point to the website point to my hard disk ... which doesn't have the files. Adobe in Firefox has problems with the Bookmarks, using 98+% of CPU resources with VERY slow results.
I think the IE behavior is a Foxit problem. I think the Firefox behavior loading Adobe Reader is a Parker problem, but why?
