View Full Version : Is there a Foxit Reader for 64 bit systems?

I am running windows xp pro x64 edition and I used the latest foxit reader installer which ran fine. However, whenever I went to open a pdf file whether it was online or in my files, the program window would flash open quickly and then disappear. When I launch foxit reader manually, it opens fine, but as soon as I tell it to open a pdf file it flashes and then closes as usual. So I thought it was because I am using a 64 bit edition of Windows xp. Is there a separate 64 bit version of foxit reader that I can download or is my operating system irrelevant to my problem?

Foxit Reader can run on 32bit and 64 bit systems. For your case, I will forward this issue to our testing team for investigation.

Don't see this problem in our testing.
Did you try other pdf view? any problem?
Did you get any error message at the time of closing?
Is there any crashlog file in the Foxit Reader installation folder?

I'm using Foxit Reader 3.0 Build 1506 on Windows XP Pro x64 with SP2 and everything works fine for me. But a native x64 version would be nice though.

I just noticed something new. When I download and save a pdf file from online and go to open it, it flashes open and immediately closes (btw, you can't even see any words, just a blank window flashes.) However, when I attempt to open a pdf page online using the moxilla firefox foxit reader plugin, a small error window comes up, but says nothing in it. The window is titled "FOXITR~1" and there is an ok button, but nothing else is inside it. Does this give anyone a clue?
I should also add that when I uninstalled adobe, I also deleted everything in the registry containing "adobe acrobat reader", so I hope it isn't possible that I deleted something vital to the functionality of Foxit reader.

Hi BillC15,
Sorry for my delay. Could you please make a screenshot for the error for us? And would you like to help testing on this issue? If don't I would send you a testing version with log. Thanks.
