Could someone from Foxit confirm whether the eSlick is eligible for an academic discount. I recently pre-ordered the eSlick and sent an email to the sales department asking for an academic discount, but was told that the eSlick is not eligible. But then I came across this blog post which would seem to indicate otherwise:

Excerpt from the blog: "... Imagine my jaw dropping when they agreed to give me the 20% discount off the $259 preorder rate..."

What gives, Foxit?

There is no academic discount. It's already discounted at a promotional price of $259.99 from the MSRP of $299.99. We will have an academic price later when the price goes back to $299.99.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your quick response. I would like to point out that if you are planning to offer an academic discount at the full price of $299.99, that would lead to a discounted price of $239.99, which is lower than the current price by $20. Would you agree that it would be fair to at least offer an academic discount of $20 on the current price of $259.99, so as to make it a comparable bargain for folks who are ordering the eSlick now, rather than waiting to order it later with an academic discount?

I am not trying to be an annoying bargain hunter here, but I would certainly like to get the best deal possible.

Thanks.

We haven't released any student discount price. It could be $259.99 or it could be more or less. We haven't decided yet. The best deal is to get it now at the special promotional price.
