I'm editing the same pdf and changing the image on page 2. Image sizes are about the same, they are scans. Every few files the pdf balloons to over 1mb in size. If I close and go back to editing another version of the file I get reasonable sizes.

For example.

Editing one pdf: 2 pages, 1 text other one image.
Size is 1.3mb. I delete the image and hit optimize. File goes down to 50K. I then shrink the image from 250k to 50k. I put it back in the 50k pdf and lo and behold the size goes up to 1.4MB.

Like majorly WTF! How do 2 50k files make a 1.4MB pdf. I edit another file with the same content and lo and behold its 400k. Serious serious bugs. I'm going to nitro PDF for my pdf creation needs, sorry guise.

Due to PDF format properties, editing a PDF file, such as deleting an image, will not remove any objects in PDF file.
And it just change the displaying of the original PDF file, so the size of pdf file will not
go down.
Are you sure that the size of the pdf file go down from 1.3MB to 50KB after you used Foxit Editor to delete the image and saved?
If so, would you please send this pdf file to support@foxitsoftware.com to do further processing?
All the files which you send to us will be kept confidential and only for internal use.

So how do I remove objects from the PDF file? I'm sure it went down, goal was to make them small enough to email/download. Sorry, can't send you legal contracts with people's info in them. Don't care if they will be kept "confidential".

What is so complicated about pdf that people can't make anything besides a file printer right.

Sorry this is a known bug of our Editor. Please select Optimize after putting back the image to see if it helps.
