Background - Foreground question

When I try to modify a PDF using the edit object (ex. erase something) when I go back to normal layout view the PDF is split into background and foreground so there are objects missing throughout the PDF document because they are set to foreground or vice versa.

What is causing this and what can be fixed?

Plese supply us the following stuffs for taking a look:
1) the original file copy
2) the edited file copy
3) indicate what edittings you have done.
