My wife started having a problem printing a PDF file from http://quiltmaker.com/webextras/patt250/
as well as other PDF files. The above URL is the first one she tried.
The header prints OK and the graphics print fine but the text is just a bunch of dots where the text should be. The printer is a HP P1000, and we have checked for updated drivers. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Foxit and the printer with no change. A wierd thing is that we have our PCs on a LAN. I can bring up the url into Foxit on my machine and print to her printer just fine. Likewise, when I send the file from her machine to print on the Lexmark X63 printer tied to my machine, it prints fine. The problem also is present on other PDF documents when using the local P1000 printer on her machine. Both machines are running Windows XP home edition with all current updates applied. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, thanks for a great product.

I have been experiencing the same HP printing issues as others (ie- Chinese-like characters printing where there should be text) and was hoping that the Final 2.0 release would finally solve this problem. Problem persists, unfortunately!
Printer is HP DeskJet 932C - non-networked - latest drivers from HP.
OS is Win XP SP2 - fully up-to-date.
Great program except for this issue. Thanks!

Yup. I've got a HP 960c and I get the same problem.
Theyre not really chinese characters, as they're more like scrambled characters. The format is proper though (page breaks, paragraphs, etc.) Its just the actual words that are scrambled. I also have run into some pdf's that just spit out an entirely blank page as well.

As requested, here is a sample of the printing issues I am experiencing with my HP Deskjet 932C printer. The document displays just fine on the screen but when it prints out there are weird characters in place of the text.

Apologies for the late reply.
Attached is a scan of the printed document and my printer info from your tool.
I thought detail was importaint, so the image size is larger than what is allowed on the forum. I zipped it.

I evaluated the trial version and it appears that the HP printer issues have finally been resolved. Several documents that had previously displayed fine on the screen but printed with the text garbled into Chinese-like characters on HP Deskjet 932C now print just as displayed. Good job and Thanks!
Not to complain, but I noticed that the trial version (3.7 MB) is more than twice the size of the current Foxit Reader. Is this intentional?

Dear Jeffro,
Thank you for feedback.
No, it is not intentional. This version is for testing and we will try to make the filesize as small as possible.
