Reference support ticket #14428.
Foxit Reader 3.0 builld 1817
O/S = Windows 2000 SP4 with all updates to 21 Aug 2009
While viewing certain PDFs on Foxit, clicking the Print button freezes the system completely. This happens when: (1) the PDF is opened from Foxit; or, (2) the PDF is opened from inside Firefox; or, (3) the PDF is opened from inside Internet Explorer. The system freeze is absolute; no cursor movement, and Ctrl-Alt-Delete does nothing. The only thing that can be done is push the reset/restart button on the computer case.
Here are the two direct links to the freeze-causing files:
(1) http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/medi-cal/Documents/PDF_Medi-Cal%20Applications/English/English%20Application.pdf
(2) http://research.microsoft.com/~hoppe/geodesics.pdf
The first I discovered on my own. I found the second on your support forum pages at http://forums.foxitsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=849&highlight=freeze.
Both files open up fine on Adobe Reader 9.0 and can be printed from Adobe Reader 9.0 without freeze/crash.
I have already attached both these files to my support ticket. Should I send them anywhere else?
