I printed this page to PDF with Phantom:

http://www.trumpuniversity.com/blog/post/2009/09/bhags-are-for-people-too.cfm

Then in Phantom I did "save as text". I looked at the rendered text, and a lot of the "mm" pairs are expanded into a bunch of blanks instead. Examples are "immediately", rendered
BHAG you may know it i ediately, but
(there are actually several spaces there, not just one)

and commitment, rendered
Pursuing a BHAG is a big co itment
(likewise, not just one space in there).

The characters are in the PDF, and the web page source isn't doing anything tricky with "mm". I tried saving the page to PDF with a different "print to PDF" driver, then export to text from that PDF, and the same thing happened.

However, I created a small MSWord document with two sentences containing the words "commitment" and "immediately", printed that to a PDF with Phantom, saved as text, and it worked fine.

I can't reproduce it. If you supply us a file sample of the print-out on you part, we will take a look. Thanks.

Attached is a zip file with two PDF files, one created by Phantom, the other by PDF995, from the page http://www.trumpuniversity.com/blog/post/2009/09/bhags-are-for-people-too.cfm

I have verified that in both Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.1.3 and Foxit Phantom 1.0.1.0901 that, as PDF files, the words "immediately", "commitment" and "communications" exist (I did this by finding "mm").

If in Phantom I view either PDF as a text file, these words are split, replacing "mm" with a group of spaces (search for "mm" fails on these words, but you can see where they should be).

I hope this is enough to reproduce or verify it.

Sorry, I can't reproduce the problem you mentioned. FYI, I saved it as txt with Foxit Phantom, and attached it to the following link, Please download it and help to mark out if you find something wrong. Thanks.

Hi, I looked at the text you saved, and it looks complete and correct.

Attached is a zip file with screen shots of what I saw in Phantom. However, it's clear that I'm getting something different than you are.

For what it's worth, I'm using 1.0.1.0901 - but I am using it in evaluation mode (I have 19 days left, I have not purchased yet, but only because of this issue). Perhaps it's a bug that only trips in unregistered evaluation copies, and once I register it will go away? Dunno.
