I just got Phantom and I'm a bit perplexed. First off, its finally coming together and I'm glad I can read and edit PDFs with the same program.
I work with non OCR scanned images, I'm sure many people do.
Unfortunately you guys still have the same STUPID mistakes which are holding you back from taking adobe's crown.
1. Inserting Pages -
I cannot insert a blank PDF page. I have to make a blank text document and convert it to PDF or use PDF editor. Why is this? Common sense says one might want add pages to put content on and they might not be pdfs already.
2. Insert Image-
I don't understand this at all. You cannot use the object editor to set images to foreground or background or anything else for that matter. Apparently an image is not an object!
I did find a work around. Insert a new text object (with the Touch Up tool), type a letter, select and place image. Now you can actually do things to the image besides scale or pick a border. Conversely if you want a border you can't add one with the touch up tool. Bummer.
3. Insert an image the regular way and then insert another. If it accidentally goes behind the image you CANNOT get it back unless you can scale the image covering it down. You can't even select the image behind it when opacity is down to 20%. It will sit there taunting you. If you worked on setting the image size just right, you have to start over.
4. Resizing is touchy. Sometimes it just refuses to grab. You can move the whole object to "fix" it.
5. File sizes- WTF, you guys rewrote the whole program and its STILL!!!!!!!! an issue.
How in hell do you get a 1MB file from 50, 26, and 80 KB files. Do you add a bunch of text that says "FoxIt is great" over and over? Furthermore, the optimize button is gone so I have to go back to PDF editor to try and "fix" it. Adobe does NOT have this problem. You still can't delete extraneous objects from the PDF.
