I am a prior Adobe Acrobat professional version 8 user. I am evaluating FoxIt Phantom. The one item that I can't figure out is the ability to a OCR a non-searchable PDF file. My scanner is a Fujitsu Scansnap and as such it does not show up in Windows devices as a scanner so your product is not listing it in the scanner section under create a PDF. Using the Fujitsu scanner, it produces a PDF file of the scan which Foxit has no problem opening.
Adobe Acrobat professional version 8 (and later) offered the user the ability to OCR such a scanned file. The process was fast and produced a searchable PDF that could be saved or saved as.
While I have not mastered the Foxit program totally, I believe that it does not offer the same functionality. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Bill
