Hi..

I have a problem with some pdf-files.
At my computer... it keeps refreshing the document over and over again.
At my friends computer, it displayes the file really super slow.

Can somone confirm this problem?

I attach a example file to this post.

Thanks for you help.

PS: This problem doesn't appear at acrobat... weird... :-/

Hi,
I can't recreate your problem here.
Would you please tell me OS version?

I am using Windows XP SP2.

How is it when you zoom into the document?
Here it takes up to 15 seconds when we zoom in 1 level.

I have no trouble to view that file... okay it is a little bit slow if I zoom in or out, but that's normal in cause of the big amount of elements (lines, ...).
I use Winxp sp2 german

This is EXACTLY the same problem I have had on graphic intensive pdfs, it continuesly redraws the image. At each refresh even my deskton icons redraw. For this pdf it takes 10 redraws in about 10 seconds before it finishes

This happanes on both my desktop and laptop

Dell 8200 2.2 GHZ 1GB memory
Windows XP SP2 Home
Nvidia Geoforce4 MX 440

HP compaq nc6000 512GB
Windows XP SP2 Professional
ATI Mobile Radeon 9600

Hi,
I zoom without any problems. It shows just the same as Adobe.
It is so weird that some can confirm your problem while some can't.

I have the same problem. It happens with this pdf file http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=manual&AppId=3830
(it for a game on steam).

My system specs are:
Athlon 64 3500+
1GB Ram
nVidia 7800 GT (256 MB Ram).
Windows XP Pro SP2

I am aslo using Foxit 2.0 Build 0930

I hope this helps fix the problem as foxit really rocks.

No problem here with your PDF on a similar machine.

The drawing plan takes a few seconds to redraw in Foxit. Smoother in Adobe Reader 7, but not much difference. Not what I would call a problem as that is a complex drawing that I would not expect to draw instantly. It may be down to different graphics cards. My system has nVidia 6100 High performance Integrated Graphics — nothing special.

Tried both PDF files. I think the problem is that they are both complex.

Try using the latest (or different) graphics driver. I had these display problems with Foxit, that dissapeared after updating my drivers.

My Compaq has a Nvidia Vanta graphics card. Nvidia recommends using the drivers from the PC manufacturer, but a lot of my problems dissapeared after installing the drivers from Nvidia.

(My OS: Windows 2000 SP4 Dutch)

The only thing that I find strange is that Foxit depends on the Graphics driver. Adobe reader had no problem at all.

Am using the latest graphics drivers. I installed acrobat reader that can read it. I have kept both on as I foxit on though as I think it is better and I will just use acrobat reader when I have a problem.

Cheers for the help.

Here is a one-page file that has Japanese writing on it. It takes quite a while for it to stop refreshing, andf I scroll at all it gets worse. This is super-annoying for me as I use files like this all the time. Acrobat does not constantly refresh at all - it is very stable.

I have a 2.20 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64, 2gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000 wih dual monitors.

Note: I just tested the file on my home computer which has an AMD x2 and a GeForce 6800 with single monitor, and it only refreshed once or twice. What's up with that?

I'd like to add to this.
I have it with every single heavy vector graphics PDF.
Like this boston transit map: http://www.mbta.com/uploadedFiles/Schedules_and_Maps/System_Map/MBTA-system_map-5.pdf

I am a graphics designer and am seriously hapered by this. I use PDF's for everything...
I love foxit, but I can't continue to use it like this...

I de-installed it, re-installed it, upgraded to the last version, have the latest graphics drivers (Nvidia)...

I can't make it go away :(

Have you tried updating you NVIDIA graphic card driver from NVIDIA?

Still a daily nuisance for me, this one...

I sent in an official bug report, never to hear from again.

I imagine it's a hard bug to track down :(

We can't confirm this bug here. Both these two files open fast without redrawing.

Please provide me your Email address or ticket number (if you use ticket system)so that I can trace it down
