Hi,
Is it possible to use open parameters with Foxit, similar to Adobe? For example, I am opening pdf's from a web page now with Adobe to a particular page with #page=2&view=fit
Can Foxit do this too?
Also, is it possible to do a zoom window, rather than just zooming in?

Thanks

Hi,
About the parameter one, sorry, I am afraid that it is unavailable right now.

What is a zoom window? Could you please explain it more?

Perhaps the poster means this.

Open the attached file in Adobe Reader, then in Foxit Reader.
It is set to open at zoom to visible, exported from Open Office 2.04

Sorry for the delay. Zoom window:
Basically, it allows you to zoom to a specific area of a pdf. I turn my CAD drawings into pdf and it is most convenient to zoom into a specific region by drawing a box around what I want to zoom into. In Adobe, I press the zoom tool and click a window around what I want to see. In Foxit, I can't do that. If zoom was cursor centric, that would work too.
Cursor centric:
Basically, when you zoom, the area where the mouse is pointed to is where the center of zoom is.

Sorry about the cad terms, it's just what I use pdfs the most for.

Thanks

Alter 5 selected the Zoom in tool. This is not quite as good as Adobe Reader's dynamic zoom, but it is slightly better than just using zoom in or zoom to.

I hope this gets fixed soon, along with text selection, zooming is fundamental to using document browsing software as it is for image viewers.

Don't use the control key to zoom in/out — use just the plus/minus keys on the keypad alone. One hand is easier than two.

And zoom in to the cursor. With just a little more thought, the zoom tool and pan tool could be combined into a single tool. There are way too many icons for zooming. Here is a suggestion how it could be implemented. Perhaps you can do better. With the zoom tool selected:

1. Click zooms in by stages to the point clicked
2. Alt Click zooms out by stages at the point clicked
3. Right-click shows just the zoom menu (not the current document menu)
4. Click and drag up zooms in to the point clicked (same as Adobe Reader)
5. Click and drag down zooms out to the point clicked (same as Adobe Reader)
6. Control Click shows the hand cursor for panning. (better than Adobe Reader)
