Hello everybody, I was using foxit reader 1.3 (I think it was), it worked really well, every once in awhile I would run across a pdf it would not open so I would have to drag out Adobe.... So I than downloaded 2.0 and installed it (I am running windows 98 SE). It installed okay, the program opens okay, but when I open a pdf I just get the graphics(?), no words or lettering. My first thought is that it did not install correctly and so I unistall using the add/remove programs, it does not unistall it, it just runs and runs, does not bring up the unistall program. So I think it is because I did not unistall the prior version, so I unistall that version and remove all files and directories to version 2.0. I than install version 2 again, installs okay, but still the same problem when I view the files. Once again I can not unistall, using the add/remove program, I also cannot unistall using foxit unistall, it just runs and runs. If I do an alt+ctrl+del I see files(?) like fox1290, fox3045, fox3210 (not all at the same time), I can end task these and the uninstaller will stop. I than think that I have a corrput download so I took the same download to another computer (running ME) and it installed fine, and runs fine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, what am I missing. In the meantime I am having to use Adobe :1_29: , so slow. I would install my prior version, but I also deleted that.
thanks for your help

Why should it be a uninstall/install problem? Foxitreader needn't any installation or deinstallation, you must only copy the main foxitreader exe into a desired folder.
In your case, it must be a problem of foxitreader with the older windows 98. I heard that other people have also trouble with using foxitreader under win98.
Until the problem is fixed, please use older version of foxitreader 1.3.
Thanks

Uh...Andreasm82...
First, gady possibly used the installer version, foxitreader_setup.exe. Just because you choose to download the foxitreader.zip file, as I do, so that there is no install necessary, it doesn't mean that everybody does.
Second, you told gady to "use older version of foxitreader 1.3". You should read gady's post more carefully.

I would install my prior version, but I also deleted that. gady, a quick Google search found http://www.filehippo.com/download_foxit/tech/?981 . There are 9 versions of foxitreader 1.3 available for download there. Good luck.

Boz: "You should read gady's post more carefully."
Why ?
If you have a better solution for himthen using older v1.3 at the moment, then just say it...
foxitreader 1.3 is available from here:

(see http://www.foxitsoftware.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=1780 )

Boz: "You should read gady's post more carefully."
Why ? Only because of the arrogant manner you used in addressing the Add/Remove Programs issue that gady was having with Foxit, completely ignoring the fact that an installer version is available.
Also, gady had already stated the desire to go back to 1.3, but that it had been deleted. Your suggestion was only repeating what gady wanted to do already, but you did not provide any assistance in finding that version.
gady may be new to the internet or just didn't think about doing a simple Google search for the file. I simply pointed out how version 1.3 could be obtained, which was the help that gady really needed in the absence of a solution to the original question.
I guess what I'm saying is that we all should try to be more helpful, with a helpful attitude, and not be so careless in reading posts, that no help is actually provided.

Hey, easy, buddy. Many thanks for such kind help.
Dear Gady, please tell us which version of reader you are using, zip package or installer version? Please note that there is no uninstallation with zip package.
Please send me the file for testing if possible.
I apologize for any inconvenience.
