Thank you, Foxit, for proving me right. Check out the post below I wanted to put on the Adobe's supposedly open forum, but couldn't because I hadn't purchased a service package (Aaarrgh!). The Foxit Reader tool works great, and the price seems reasonable... I'll recommend it to our IT staff at my company.

"Oh my God, why doesn't somebody state the obvious! The commenting functions relating to any of the Adobe products are the most inconvenient convenience feature on the planet. There are so many hurdles to overcome, it's ridiculous. The creator of a pdf document has to "enable" commenting? Gimme a break! The premise should be this "if the existing security measures allow me to print the damn document and highlight/underline it in hard copy, then why can't I do the same in soft copy?" Basic highlighting at the very least should be free and simple to use on ANY pdf document, regardless of licensing (keep the digital document review features under license, fine). Who's copyright am I stomping on by highlighting the parts that are of value to me, hmmm? Have I stolen ownership? Should I run from the police for highlighting all the textbooks I used in University? This is something that should have been done a decade ago. Paperless society - Ha! I'm about to print an 800 page technical manual to be able to highlight it just because of security/licensing/BS. It was probably a bigger pain in the butt for the developers to find a way to make highlighting hard than it would be to just set it free. Come on... take a step toward being the real creator of a digital planet... Steve Jobs would do it."
