I can't understand what you mean, sorry :)
your foxitreader is closed, but it crashs if you type in a @ sign? How can you type in something, if it's closed?

Foxit Reader does not crash when entering a '@'.
The problem is that [CTL]+Q closes foxit reader.
Unfortunately the @ is placed on [RIGHT ALT]+Q e.g. on german keyboards. And [RIGHT ALT] is interpreted as [CTL]+[ALT].
So Foxit Reader just quits - it does not crash!
Acrobat Reader should close on [CTL]+Q, too but in the german version this is disabled (but the shortcut is mentioned in the menue).
Although this is no programming error you should think about it because with this behavior typing text or forms is impossible because email addresses appear nearly in every form!

I agree. Control Q is not the ideal shortcut to exit a program, though it is used by a few. In Opera it is the default shortcut for exit, which I soon removed having pressed it a few times in error. I now use Escape for "Hide Opera" (send to system tray), and the only way for me to close Opera is now from the close button.
See this thread (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=252), which suggests using the Escape key to quit. Escape already quits from fullscreen mode, and could be used to quit the program. Irfan View does this, but has an option to show a warning dialogue on exit (as does Opera).
Foxit Reader is a file viewer like Irfan View, FastStone Image Viewer, or FontView — all of which use Escape to quit. The escape key is hard to press by mistake, easy to press intentionally, and its behaviour for closing dialogue boxes is familiar to nearly everyone. I cannot think of a more appropriate key to use to quit Foxit Reader, though I would recommend an option to show a warning dialogue. If editing has been done with the Typewriter tool, then a warning should be shown regardless of the setting in options.
