I tried Foxit reader but I had to uninstall it due to 2 annoying problems:
1) With FireFox 2.0 when I clicked on a link to a .PDF file Firefox would open the dialog box asking whether it should open the file with Foxit or save the file. However the OK button on this window was disabled.
2) The inability to open PDF files within the actual browser window. Yes I know that there is supposedly a fix for this that will be released but until then I can not use Foxit PDF reader.

I don't understand your problems :-) If I myself want to view a PDF file, I download it and open it. So I can view it as often as I want.
And If I want to see only one time, I click on "open" in firefox. In this case, foxitreader opens and displays the file.
So I have never trouble with any PDF plugins in firefox. It's easier, believe me.

Problem is that the above does not work for me with FoxitReader and FireFox 2.0. The OK button does not work on the OPEN / Save To window in FireFox when FoxitReader is installed.
How many PDFs are do you have open at the one time using the above method? I do product research for clients and need to compare specs/manuals in PDF format at the same time and not being able to use a plugin with FoxitReader to open it in FireFox isn't as handy being able to make use of FireFox's tabbed browsing for navigating between these documents and the vendor's web site.

Firefox disables the ok button on a timer so you don't accidentally click it or push enter which would do the action automatically. Firefox also has weird focusing windows issues with that dialog box that go away if you click inside that window somewhere and wait a second for the ok button to become undisabled.
Is this what you mean or something else?

Exactly. I had clicked inside the window as well as waiting for Firefox to enable the ok button but nothing seemed to work. I uninstalled FoxIt and reinstalled it and now the OK is usable.

I use Foxit Reader and Firefox 2 and view dozens of PDFs per day in my research activities. Works great, although FF2 has an annoying bug where you need to click the OK button twice on some sorts of downloads. I prefer to have my PDFs open in something other than my browser. When I used Acrobat, I disabled the document opening in Firefox feature. It would be handy to have tabs in Foxit, but also have the option to open documents in separate windows as it does presently (good for side by side comparisons).
