I read schematics in PDF format & it would be great if an area could be selected (same as 'text select' or 'snapshot') to zoom into.
With the amount of detail involved, it is easy to loose your position in the document when zooming by steps & I find myself panning around until I find what I was interested in only to do it again on the next zoom.
Thanks.:1_18:

The lack of this feature is the greatest downside of foxit reader. Drawing a rectangle on the screen and zooming to that is required behavior for a PDF viewer. I really like the speed of foxit reader, but without that feature it is very hard to use. Zooming in and then trying to scroll around doesn't work well for a large document.
The magnifying glass idea is an improvement on the current setup, as would a key and mouse wheel zoom (ie Hold ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom), but neither works as well as drawing a rectangle.
Is this a very difficult feature to implement? It seems like it was reqested long ago, and seems like a very basic feature.
Thanks,

I agree. Zoom in to the selection marquee would be very helpful, or even just zoom to centre of the screen instead of the top left corner. Adobe Reader's zoom in tool does this right. The Dynamic Zoom is neat too, but it is not essential.
Get one up on Adobe Reader — add support for zoom in/out with the ± keys on the numeric keypad. Again, zoom in the centre of the screen. Doesn't the mouse scroll wheel do this already, or does it scroll the document? I don't have a mouse wheel. The middle-mouse button currently does nothing. A document scroller like in IE or Opera would be useful.

More importantly than zooming based on center, is zooming based on the current mouse position. In a large document, zooming one step and then recentering the location of interest, and then zooming and re-centering again, and again ... is very cumbersome.
Best is to draw a box around what you want to see, and instantly that part is full window.
Zooming in by steps, but centered on the mouse position is also useful.
I think the idea of scrolling the wheel while left clicking would be awesome. Then zooming could by done without reaching to the keyboard. Also a one-up on adobe.
Currently Foxit does scroll the document when the mouse wheel is moved.
