I have a similar issue. I cannot install Foxit Creator. I tried and keep getting error requesting that Foxit driver be un-installed. I have removed the folder from program files and removed all registry entries that I could find.

Please tell me the number after addprinterdriver message so that I can locate what the problem may be. Also tell me your operating system. Thank you.

Go into your Control Panel/Printers and Faxes, then click on File, Server Properties, click the Drivers tab and remove any PDF drivers that may be in there. Reboot so that there are no programs running that could be using the printer driver, then run the Foxit install program. The driver should then install. These are the steps I took to overcome the error messages.

I'd like to install the Foxit PDFCreator. If it is a small and fast as the reader, it seems to be perfect replacement for my regular PDF Printer.
But i also have the AddPrinterDialog error. Here is a screenshot of the failure during setup:
http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/5995/zwischenablagevy8.gif
There is no printer installed, when the setup finishes. :(
System: Windows XP
What can I do?
I already deleted all printers and printer drivers and ran the cleanspooler-utility mentioned in the sticky thread above. I also tired changed the spooler path or delete the whole spooler directory without any success for the installation. Any more ideas?

this might help...
I did changed my Environment variables ...PATH =
"%systemroot%\system32;%systemroot%;%systemroot%\sy stem32\wbem" (without the quotes)
first go to your system properties
then click tab Advance, go to environment variables
there will be two variables...User Variable and system variable
try to locate the line PATH and if there is no path create new one and then in the variable window type variable name= PATH ...and to Variable Value=%systemroot%\system32;%systemroot%;%systemro ot%\system32\wbem
close system properties and then reboot
after restarting, try installing again the FoxitCreator and it will now succesfully install the software..
works for me and hopefully fork for everybody.!
edit..i noticed after posting here that the variable did change a little...please make sure that the variable lines has no space between letters..
(ei....%\s ystem32\>>>>...this should be %\system32\ w/o spaces in between letters..
thanks

do you have the driver files to the new creator ???
christina

That file instructs you how to install your driver using INF. It doesn't matter an old or new version file.

Vista-- no way to install...have tried everything. Don't have any other pdf printers...no other pdf apps at all installed(except for pdf image extraction wizard)...not even Adobe.
May I please get that file sent also(exact user name here at hotmail)?
BTW that error message re admin privileges is erroneous / strange-- no matter what privilege / ownership / compatibility edits are made.
Also able to install several other virtual pdf printer drivers-- just not Foxit(all printers shareable on the network too-- so no network or firewall issues either).
I suggest either of several things:
1. Make the contents of PDF Creator Setup extractable..OR:
2. Post necessary standalone contents for separate download. This way:
one can just go into windows-- add hardware & point to file location on hard drive.
OR:
3. Have the PDF Creator Setup perform step 2, if you don't want to publicly post the necessary files.
HOWEVER:
the internet being what it is, that rar file you're providing will eventually find its way to some ftp server(ergo search engines).
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the solution. It worked for me.
I simply started the "Print Spooler" service. No reboot. Retried install. It worked this time!
