When trying to imbed PDF Files into Word (Office 2003 on W2000 (both with latest updates/patches)) I get the attached message ("This object was created in FoxitReader. This application is not available to open this object. .......").
They obviously weren't created by FoxitReader, but that is my default reader for PDF.
Has anyone else met this problem, and solved it?

I realize this thread is old, but I'm posting this for historical purposes. I was getting this same error. I was able to make this work by doing the following:
Insert --> Object...
"Create New" tab
Select "Adobe Acrobat Document"
check "Display as icon"
Click change icon... if you want to change the caption
select ok
popup will allow you to browse to a file. open the file you want to insert. then close the program (foxit, adobe, etc).
now your file is inserted into the document and you can open it from within the doc. this can, however, cause the document to get very large.

Hello, because you embed the PDF file into DOC file. The embedded file size is equal to the original file size plus PDf file size.
