As you know, Tommy, this has been requested and we've been told that it has been added to the developer's "to do" list. It amazes me at the unresponsiveness to the request.

Hmmm...I just looked at the http://visagesoft.com/products/pdfreader/ site, and eXPert PDF Reader is 7.4 MB! Foxit Reader is only 1.66 MB! Is the extra size worth it? Have you tried eXPert PDF Reader?

theysimply aded to "to do list".

others software developers "did it" instead

I tested "eXPert PDF Reader". It is much slower than foxitreader and has trouble with rendering of many PDF files.

Yeah!!

I'm still wondering.. Why there is still no multi-tab feature?? Huh...

That is the only main feature that I am looking for all this while...

I feel so upset.. :(

OK, Tabbed PDF would be nice, but personally I don't consider this as a most urgent feature.

eXpert PDF Reader is, in my eyes, not even close to be an alternative for Foxit Reader. It is annoyingly slow, has rendering errors in almost every PDF I tried with it and has an ugly skin which cannot be disabled (even if you choose "No Theme", it tries to reproduce the "Windows Classic" style itself instead of just using the standard look, but miserably fails).

At least I can now say that I've tried it, but this reader did not survive longer than 10 minutes on my PC.

Foxit Reader needs to do improvements forever. It can't sleep!

Crucial: Foxit Reader can't stop!

Some confusion seems there are: the improvements are delayed, the translations don't have the due support and without checking. It seems something is wrong.

Off course that pdf tabbed browsing is now fundamental. To know to listen the users is imperative...

Please check this application: PDF-XChange Viewer (http://www.docu-track.com/home/prod_user/pdfx_viewer/).

PDF-XChange Viewer is a 12.2 MB download!

Foxit Reader is only 1.7 MB!

(+1.27MB JavaScript Support)

Like someone said: "The setup file is 12MB, but in fact, without the help files, just the core files can zipped to a 3MB package."

And the primary question is not about Megabytes - it is about the reality.

We aren't talking about compression! For that we can talk about applications like Winzip, WinRar, WinAce, 7-Zip, KGB, UPX and so on. To do this is to distract.

The Foxit Reader'problem isn't about megabytes - it seems, unfortunately, that the problem is another.

The problem is:
On the Internet there are a lot of browsers, some dozen of Antivirus,
some hundred of CD Burners, some thousand of Image Viewers, and so on...
Why you want one pdf reader only?

Did I say that?

I'd love to try PDF-XChange, but I'm not willing to try a PDF reader with a 12.2MB setup file when Foxit Reader is only 1.67 MB (+1.27MB JavaScript Support) and can do all that it can do already! The Foxit Reader'problem isn't about megabytes - it seems, unfortunately, that the problem is another. This is very likely true. It seems likely to fix Foxit Reader's shortcomings would not cause the program to be very much bigger than it already is, but I don't know this for a fact.

PDF XChange is 4mo each version (X32 and X64 - separate builds for that).
Use UPX or another exe-packer to compact it - makes ~1.6mo.
@Boz - try innounp ;) http://innounp.sf.net/
PDF XChange is portable like Foxit: none - it needs some portable loader...
(not the U3-version)

PDF Xchange viewer always activates the animations for minimizing and maximizing windows on my system. So after using this program, I always have to go the the Device Manager and manually deactivate these animations again, since I don't want them.

I think tabs would be nice for opening multiple PDF files, but I have to say if it's going to make a substantial difference in loading time; it work fine the way it is.

I like the non-tab FoxitPDF as this allows me to open 2 instances of FoxitPDF and view 2 PDFs on my 2 LCD screens simultaneously (i.e. comparing 2 versions of datasheets). Other Readers (Acrobat) not even allow me to run 2 instances.

If I want to have one instance I can drag and drop as many PDF files into one FoxitPDF instance as I like and can switch the different PDF's using the Ctrl-Tab key. What does a 'tabbed UI' will buy what the Ctrl-Tab can't do ?

Less taskbar windows (I know they can be grouped, but I hate that:P).
But I agree with you that it should be optional. I have a widescreen and like having one program on left 60% of screen, and other programs in right 40% of screen
