First, good job on graphics performance. I see an improvement on panning large drawings - it's faster. :1_01:
The topic of keyboard shortcuts is a hot one with me - thanks to (*&^% Adobe. I can appreciate Foxit's desire for compatibility but dang... who ever decided RightArrow would do anything but pan right? Who would make it the same function as PageDn - well... some idiot at Adobe did, long ago.
Occasional use is the problem. You remember Ctrl-+ and zoom in to a drawing then try to pan right.... DANG... I changed the page... oh yeah, gotta hit SHIFTRightArrow. Find that page... Zoom again... This is always followed by expletives lashed at Adobe...
I appeal to Foxit to fix this Adobe idocy with keyboard shortcuts that make sense.

I second this request. Being paralized from neck down and having to typing with a mouthstick, keyboard shortcuts are a huge help. I can't use a mouse to scroll (can't move it around accurately enough). Being able to just press Right arrow to scroll right would be a blessing. I always dreaded that lack of functionality in Adobe.
Heck, I didn't even know I could SHIFT+RightArrow to scroll right (thanks for that tip Bill MI). Even with that option I have to SHIFT+RightArrow, SHIFT+RightArrow, SHIFT+RightArrow, SHIFT+RightArrow over and over to scroll right since I can't hold two keys down at one time. Please give this IDEA some consideration.:1_30:

Hi Wheelie. :1_30: It's good to have such sincere support. I've been looking for a mid-90s Usenet post of mine, I think it was Usenet, on this exact same topic with Adobe.
I swear the few % that use shortcuts is so small this idiocy goes on for years with no attention. I *still* won't use MSIE only because they refuse to incorporate a simple Find-Next hotkey. Thanks goodness Foxit used the traditional F3.

I agree, the F3 hotkey is very useful. I won't use MSIE either. I use both Maxthon with it's hilight seach keyword in it's searchbar or the EasyFind plugin and I use FireFox with it's nice find/next/previous options. :)

so how close are we to a major revamping of keyboard shortcuts?. bill, i really appreciate your diligence in making a big deal of this... i don't really understand how people are supposed to get anything done on a computer if they're spending half the time with their right hand moving between the keys and the mouse...
anyway... my major vote for a keyboard shortcut (and the one that brought me to the boards, actually):
one to toggle between tabs when viewing multiple files. it seems only oversight could explain endorsing the advantages of tabbed browsing without suppling one of its most crucial requisites--the ability to toggle between them quickly.
firefox (!!) does a great job of this already (ctrl + left/right arrow to go to next or previous tab; ctrl + number 1-9 to go immediately to that numbered tab).
thanks so much for the software, foxit people, and thanks, bill, for the perch for my minor complaint. sorry about the tl;dr post :/
p.s. if it so happens that sort of thing is possible already, i'm sorry for the rant. i hope to see a list of shortcuts somewhere on the helppage of the physical reader in a future update.

Hi Lakewalling and thanks for resurrecting a very old post of mine. The best thing that could happen is "attention by numbers" so I invite all comments.
C'mon, keyboard users... pile on! :1_11:

Would love to see "Ctrl + N" > Note Tool.
Thx for a great product!
Best Regards

I just started using Foxit Reader as an alternative to Adobe Reader. So far so good.
I am a huge proponent of keyboards shortcuts, keyboard+mouse ("clutch-key") shortcuts and the ability to customize these to my liking.
I registered for the forums today because I was trying to navigate a document in Foxit Reader today and instinctively I held down CTRL+Space to toggle the zoom tool a-la Illustrator. This is how I learned that in Foxit Reader a single depression of the space bar is used to move forward one page, and SHIFT+Space is used to move back.
I can see how this could makes sense and even be convenient to a lot of folks— space bar is the biggest thing on the keyboard... easy to find, easy to press down... hey, awesome!.
For me, of course, it's *maddening*. Because by Illustrator/Photoshop convention the space bar toggles the one-shot pan tool. I'm a PS/AI power-user of sorts and I have their clutch-key shortcuts etched in muscle memory. One hand on the keyboard and one hand on the mouse is how I roll. Where is my one-shot dive-bomb zoom? You know, the feature that lets me get in and out of a specific area on the page without changing tools? Now, I *know* I can use "control and scroll". That's a great feature, but sometimes I want to target and zoom to one particular detail. No better or faster way to do that than with the one-shot marquee-zoom.
I'm focusing on this one example because it's the most recent and closest at hand, but in general I'm all for offering customization of shortcuts. By all means offer a standard set but for cryin' out loud don't make me have to break my precious, hard-earned workflow habits, because at the end of the day I'm about flying through my tasks and I'm going to use the software that works the way I want it to, bloatware or otherwise.
Peace y'all.

ok, just got into this software 8 minutes ago so bear with me.
My job is reading tediously long and often illegible legal docs all day and I would love to be able to use foxit to do it.
I just fired up a nasty doc and the first things I checked for, besides the Ctrl+mouse wheel, are the Ctrl + 1/2/3 shortcuts for zoom. At first try, it didn't work. Then I looked under the menu bar and they're listed as shortcuts (see attached).
I closed it and tried again. Still doesn't work. any thoughts? is it just me or is this a future enhancement where the menu option is wishful thinking?
thanks!

I haven't encounter this problem or see other people complain aobut it. What's your operation system and reader version number? Would you please provide us a copy of the file ? Thanks a lot.

It doesn't matter which document I open. It's a navigational problem and it's happening with every/any PDF I open in Foxit Reader.
Typing Ctrl+0 should adjust the view to full page (effectively zooming out until the entire page is visible) and Ctrl+2 should change the view to fit the width of the pdf viewer window.
I'm on Windows XP w/ SP3, running Foxit reader 2.3.
Also, no luck on Ctrl+Z for undo. It's not even listed under Edit on the menu bar. Is that an advanced feature for the Pro version only??

1. We use Ctrl+1 for Actual Size, Ctrl+2 for Fit Page and Ctrl+3 for Fit Width.
2. Current (Pro) Reader has no Undo operation.

By all that is sacred, please make customizable keyboard shortcuts for foxit! It's the only thing that prevents me from using it in daily life.
Some of us spend most of the day reading pdfs on the screen. Keyboard ninjitsu is a must.
