View Full Version : HELP: Annotation defaults don't work

I've just paid for the reader Pro pack, and immediately found a problem that's going to make it difficult to use the system if I can't find a workround...
When adding annotations, the comment box has a name, timestamp and subject. The name seems to be the Windows username. You can change this in the comment's properties, and can then make the new properties the default for new annotations. (Unfortunately you have to do this for each kind of note, but I guess I can live with that.)
However, as soon as you exit the reader, it forgets the default properties, and reverts to the Windows username. For me, this is useless – the people I'm sending annotated PDFs to have no idea what my Windows username is. They need to see my company name, or a project-specific tag that they assign.
How do I get the reader to save the correct name?
Thanks,
Nick

Hmm, it looks like this problem applies to the subject field in the annotation, too.
I thought it quite handy to use subjects of 'Insert', 'Replace', 'Reformat', etc. But it forgets the subjects too. There's no way I can use the markup to request bold type because it adds a comment with a subject of 'Squiggly'. That's not going to impress. Where do these strings come from? Can I change them?
Oh, some background: This is Windows XP. I sometimes process maybe fifty PDFs a day so per-file setup time is an issue. Hundreds of marks per page are sometimes necessary so per-mark setup time is also an issue.

Yes, I can see your problem and the inconvenience. I will talk to our developers regarding it.

Sorry, I don't understand this post. What subject do you refer to here?
