The toolbar positions aren't saved. This is very irritating as I have to rearrange to toolbar toolbuttons every time I start up Foxit Reader.

Please correct this.

Could you come up with detailed steps of how to duplicate this problem?

just press F8 to arrange them, F8 again to turn off, close Foxit end reopen it, the F8 - arrangement is lost.
it only happens, when toolbars were off.

The F8 method doesn't work on my PC.
I open Foxit Reader, F8 to put off toolbar. Close Foxit Reader and open it again. Press F8.
I tried many times, yet toolbar won't go to the next line.
@d-buck:
Could you start from normal state so that I could follow your steps to duplicate this problem? Seems this problem disappear for good on my pc, yet I know it will happen sometimes.

The same problem here. Only since version 1413.

@arthur
What do you mean with "Could you start from normal state"
The first picture is the one which I can see when I start foxit reader the first time.
Each time I start foxit the two Buttons (Help, Typwriter) are under the other ones.

@d-buck:
Could you try to re-set your toolbar back. And then inform us how to duplicate this problem?

Ok I delete all registry entries from foxit.

Now I start foxit reader. It looks like that

Then I change Toolbat Layout to that:
http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/6449/22jg1.jpg

Then I close foxit reader an restart it. It looks like that. The position was not saved.

When I change Toolbar to that, it works fine. After a restart the position was saved.

I think there is a problem when I put all icons in one line.

I simply do NOT understand this! The new build 1522 STIL HASN'T FIXED THIS!

This is a usabillity issue that is VERY irritating, it should have been fixed by now.

I too like all the icons on one line. I too moved commenting tools icons for Typewriter and ? onto the upper bar with all the other icons. I too found on reboot of Foxit, icons would revert to their default position. However, employing Alt+F8 right after starting Foxit returns icons to a single bar, my preference.

Toolbar positions have never been saved properly. I've given up.
I've tested in WinXP and Win2k.

Don't give up, lexein. As I said, Alt+F8 works for me, it restores my preferred settings, but that's on my Windows98 box, which I've been mostly using while I try to solve some hardware (heat) problems on my WindowsXP machine. Last night, after replacing the heat sink thermal compound, I booted up my XP box and went for a ride. Evidently my overheat problem was not due to bad heat sink contact, but I did note Foxit had all icons on one line without needing to employ Alt+F8... go figure...?

I neglected to check which version is on the XP system, but I'm pretty sure it's fairly recent; I'm not a malingerer when it comes to updating. It's either current or one back. My Windows98 box is using the current 1522 build.

All this says to me for those wishing to accomplish this preferred setting, it can be done -- don't give up.

You don't get it FoxitFan: we DON'T want to save and restore the toolbar positions everytime we start up Foxit Reader, it should do so by itself.

Hell, I registered just to post about this problem and now I see that I'm not the only one to have noticed it.

Should really get fixed.

@obeckman:

Oh, I get it, obeckman, but if you read my entire posts you know it is possible to achieve what you ask, if only, at this time, on WindowsXP systems. True, it evidently took some machinations; sorry I don't recall the specifics and sequence, but my results should provide assurance it can be done. Still, hitting Alt+F8 on start of Foxit on my Windows98 box seems to me such a tiny inconvenience, especially considering this excellent, FREE, small-footprint program that eliminates the need to install that hideously obese program we all know as Acrobat Reader.

I, for one, am in awe of how far this software has come in a surprisingly short time. respectful of the effort developers have dedicated, and very grateful for this program.

Still there's no solutions to this annoying problem, isn't it?? :(

As previously stated herein, Windows XP w/Foxit does what I want on Tool bar. Windows98SE requires hitting F8 to bring up Tool bar icons, but they remain on a single line.

Try this, in sequence:
- open Foxit
- hit Alt+ F8
- hit Shift F8
- close Foxit
- open Foxit
- hit F8

(Hereafter when you close Foxit, remember to close Tool bar [F8] first. Should you forget, repeat sequence above to restore single line setting.)

Icons should now remain on a single line.

Hello all,

first at all, sorry for my poor English as I'm a French guy. I discovered this product this morning and I got the same disappointment as you with the toolbar positions saving.

So, I noticed that the problem occured with some toolbars placed at the end of the toolbar line. Just like a uncontroled "newline wraparound" (it's hard to me to explain it in English!). I chose to insert "edit" button between other toolbars and to suppress "help" toolbar which I found unuseful for a quick access to functions I use too few times.

The whole set of toolbars looks like this (see the attached image)... and it works (its configuration is saved) in my WXP SP2 with IE6.1 environment.

I hope it will help some of you.

Best regards.

Hello,

I've noticed the same problem with Foxit Reader 2. I try to arrange the buttons down the left hand side of the screen (makes reading portrait documents easier and takes better advantage of the screen).

When I restart Foxit, only one button is on the left and the rest are aligned along the top. What to do?!
