So I've finally upgraded Foxit Reader from v2.0 to v2.2 and I discover that JavaScript is now built in. I don't want JavaScript because of security reasons, but I can't find any setting to allow me to disable it. This is A Very Bad Thing. How do I kill it without having to down/upgrade to v2.0?
And while I'm complaining, why does Foxit Reader still rely on Windoze "Internet Settings". To cripple all the horrible phone-home "features" of Windoze, all our systems have those settings configured to point at a non-existent proxy. We have found that only a very small number of badly behaved third party applications rely on those settings - unfortunately, Foxit Reader is one of them! What I expect of a 'Net-aware application is for it to have its own proxy settings for fine-grained control. If so desired, you could have a default setting that says to use the Windoze "Internet Settings", as long as it can be overridden.
