Foxit Reader - My suggestions - Xmas/New year wishlist

1. Save all settings to a .ini file - WHERE ALL MY SEETINGS GOING TO?? I know that foxit is portable already but I would like to track my settiongs when I move from computer to computer an dnot have any write to any registy

2. Tabbed Interface - I really want this, even if the maximum we could open is i.e. 5 tabs simultaneously, I would love this feature to be very lightweight and have no affect on the speed on opeing a single PDF (this feature will knowc-out pdf x change viewer).

3. Thumbnails - On the side pane I would like the option to view each page by thumbnails, I honestly thought this feature was already there. No cache or anything like that should have to be created as I really dont mind if page thumbnails load slowly with PDF with lots of pages. A very important feature for me as I like to quick prview page content before I flip to next page. This should be as an option to enable on the interface and not as a default on first run :)

4. Custom hotkey setings - I would like this feature and I know it is not the hardest feature to squeeze in. Again that is why Foxit should write all settinsg to an ini file (I like .ini cong files on small programs), if there is no ini Foxit can write one in the folder that the Foxit Reader.exe is in :)

5.Ultra skinnable interface - (for a far future version and not too soon). I really like foxit's default interface it is simple and clean. I think a skins folder can be next to Foxit reader.exe for Foxit to read skins wherevere foxit reader is moved to Usb stick etc. (supporting relative paths) this feature would be great, because I would like to create an office 2007 skin for the whole interface like NitroPdf

Well I have downloaded 2.3 and I can see many imporvements and waahhay the arrival of TABBED BRWOSING is here :)

1. Are all the settings being saved to registry , because I still propose that all application settings and window size should be saved to a portable .ini file or similar configurations text file. The ini file like most small applications would read from the same folder in which the foxit reader.exe is located

2. Tabs is here in 2.3 - It would be good if we could make the tabs moveable on the tab bar change the colour of the tabs and the addition of multi-row tab display like what can be done in FireFox addon tab mix plus -

3. Add sidebar Thumbnails to each pdf page like Adobe Reader - I understand that this will require more testing and it might slower the opening of large or detailed pdf documents but I would still like it

4. Hotkey configuration is still needed for the future

5. - Skinable interface is not needed aesthetically - Foxit looks fine.


New* 6 - Fonts - configuring - What about application configuration of FONT on the application - This should be simple for Foxit as it is a Windows app so whichever Windows PC I use my same Foxit on it will use that same font I selected because as Widnows fonts are read from the sytem folder

what does " Mantis ID:0005123 " mean . Youy know the suggestion to make the tabs moveable, multi-row, and colour changing for pdf reading purposes is a good suggestion for upcomming 2.4


btw.. you might wanna change the 2.5 M download to 6 mb as the new version 2.3 is at that filesize now

I was only referring to the filesize of Foxit Reader 2.3 as I thought the download size was 6mb when in actual fact the foxit exe is .. sorry my mistake

And I now know that "mantis: id" means the bug tracking system that you good ole folks use here :)
