Hi,

I scanned 40 pages of a book as Pdf using VueScan 8.4.06.
Here the settings:

Input Media: Text
Scan Resolution: 600dpi
Output: Pdf file
Pdf Multi Pages

Result: 50% came black :1_32:

I need to know whether this is depending on Foxit 2.2 or a bug in VueScan.

Certainly, it is very disappointing, it took me 1hour scanning and every single page was correctly scanned and did appear on the screen, but when I opened the document I found the surprise.

I do not want to download Adobe to test if it depends on Foxit or not because then it takes time to cleanup my PC from all the stuff Adobe puts into my registry.

Did anybody have the problem before?

Thank you
Alex

The problem is may be due to a flaw in hardware, scanning software (ViewScan), user error, or a flaw in the PDF viewing software (Foxit Reader).

I have seen before some that some HP scanners (perhaps due to a hardware defect) fail to correctly scan an image and yield a white scan input. I have not however seen output to be black. Perhaps a combination of defective scans and software color correction (resulting in black) is occuring.

Hi,

It was a bug in VueScan.

Cheers
