He wasn't talking about the plugin. Again, the problem is:

1. view a PDF file with Foxit
2. there's a link in the PDF
3. click on the link
4. IE opens, instead of the default browser <- problem

I have the same problem. Please fix that. IE sucks!

Now everything goes ok !!!
But it would be better if Foxit Reader could always act like this, also with the last version (2.2):1_30:

Bye bye Elisha !!!

p.s.
There is only ONE problem with your message:
if I try to open the image attachment I get THIS message:

gagliaudo, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Could you please tell me why ???

Bye bye again Elisha !

Sorry Boz and Paolo! The forum doesn't allow regular users to see any attachments. It's something related to the privileges. I will try not to attach any files though. Sorry!

try pdfxchangeviewer and get rid of all the glitches in foxit.

Plug-in for both firefox and opera works great there. You must give ita shot.

At least four identical postings promoting an alternative product... This is the Foxit forum, not one for advertising others...

I don't work for any product and so its not advertising. rather it is user experience sharing. I used to love foxit at one time but got frustrated with its sluggish support and care for users. I am still well wisher of foxit and thats why posted info regarding how competitors are moving ahead. Foxit need to wake up. Learn that time will run out and opportunity for becoming a real alternative of adobe reader may slip away.

I ran into this same very annoying bug (IE opening when clicking a link in Foxit instead of the default browser, Firefox). I installed 2.1 and it also works correctly now for me.

Why was this change ever made in 2.2? Pretty sad that you have to go back a version to eliminate a bug that was seemingly purposefully introduced.

Foxit is still better than Acrobat reader! :)

Thank you Evsource. New plugin will be developed to support foxit opening in Firefox.

why do you need to create a plugin for something that was working fine in a previous version?

The forum doesn't allow regular users to see any attachments. It's something related to the privileges. That's ridiculous! The same BBS software is used by other forums with no such restrictions. The old aphorism that "one picture is worth a thousand words" should be reason enough not to have such a restriction.

I love foxit reader...
...but this morning I noticed the same bug (is it really a bug?)
--> A link in my pdf did open IE instead of firefox :1_22:

It's a real shame to tell users to downgrade their software to solve a problem. What they (we) want is a bugfix.

Have to admit that after reading those posts, I tried the competing product. And at least for right now, I like the other product a bit better.

But competition is the backbone of free enterprise. I know the good folks at Foxit Software are working on improving Foxit Reader, and I look forward to trying the next release.

Hello kuntau,

Do you install any other web brower besides IE and Firefox? Please be sure you have set the browser as default properly.
