I've installed the ifilter per instructions and it is not searching the content.
Windows Server 2003 standard
Moss 2007 SP1 Sites and Search same server.
Foxit_PDF_IFilter_X64
Word docs are getting searched but pdfs are not.
I checked one document on my machine and text is highlight-able.
Any clues. I did add the 38 key for pdfs in the registry on the server.

hi,
i am thinking of buying the foxit pdf ifilter to install on windows server 2003 64 bit because the adobe filter won't work on 64 bit.
however, when i read the installation guide, it said that ifilter would work with the indexing service (that's good because I've got some c# code using that now and i don't want to change it), BUT, later, the guide says that i must install windows desktop search (wds).
my question is: do i have to install wds to make the ifilter work with my existing .net code which uses indexing service queries?
i would rather not install wds and part of the installation guide implied that the ifilter would work with indexing service.
thanks.
tim.

You don't have to install wds to make the ifilter work with your existing .net code.

I am looking at Foxit. I have the Adobe PDF iFilter installed, but it doesn't work.
Do I just install Foxit or do I need to uninstall Adobe iFilter before I install Foxit?
Thanks

Basically Just install Foxit Ifilter and you can use it. In case it can't work properly, we suggest to uninstall Adobe iFilter .
