Just uninstalled A**obat Reader 8.1 and installed Reader 2.3 as I got referred to it by a trusted friend and would like to share some observations.

Pros:
1) Size and speed - incredible! You have done a great job with the software
2) No (apparent at least, correct me if I am wrong) browser integration - may be annoying to some, but I love it - keep a single application for a single task
3) Compatibility - seems to be solid, yet to find a non-compatible PDF

Cons:
4) Searching - The Ctrl-Shift-F function does a great job searching. However, being a speedfreak, I hate using the mouse to search again (clicking "New Search").
5) Scrolling - "normal" Windows apps scrolls the area under the mousepointer. Foxit Reader does not do this and I have to click to scroll. The problem is that clicking in the Bookmarks pane navigates to that bookmark...
6) Opening a file from another application (for example Help and Documentation files) - Foxit Reader is not brought to front which is different from A**obat and a bit of annoyance

So far I am very happy with it! Keep it up!

Since 2.3 is even worse I don't think they have a clue what we're talking about. Or don't care.

So the big 3 of Win-Browsers are able to work with Foxit - and that's enough - no special plugin needed - as you said and also my opinion.
Read somewhere, that plugins are always in danger of being exploited.

to point 6, I think I also saw same thing. If I open a pdf file which is linked somewhere in a program, it opens in background. I must first click on the taskbar item of foxitreader to bring pdf file to front. Is that your problem, too ?

I am also new to Foxit and I like its lightning fast opening of files and scrolling. However, as of 2.3, I am facing a lot of annoying troubles with searching. Usually I press Ctrl-F and write in the search box but now when I press Enter nothing happens and I have to use the mouse to press the next result button which is very annoying especially if the word occurs often in the file...

Anybody experiencing this problem?

T.F.

I can use the Enter key to search in the Search box.
