View Full Version : Problem: messed up toolbar after minimizing screen

I just recently upgraded to the version 2.3 build 2825.

After I minimize the window (to work on something else) and bring the foxit window up again, the toolbar on the top always rearranges vertically on the left side, requiring me to to a Alt+F8 every time to make it line up at the top again. How do I fix this?

Tool bar as it is normally, or after I do a Alt+F8 to reset it:

Tool bar as it looks after the window has been minimized and brought back up:

Hello Coleca617 and Richf,

What's your OS respectively?

Thanks

Does this happen directly after minimizing ? Or did you wait some time?

It doesn't happen on my xp system no matter how long I wait. Will confrim it on the Vista.

I'm using XP and I also encounter this problem. I believe the problem also occurs after my laptop goes into standby mode.

I can't seem to duplicate it. I only notice it when I maximize that the toolbars are stacked. I will try and determine under what circumstances it happens.

I've experienced this problem in Vista. It occurs sometimes when I shut my laptop screen but don't shut the computer. But it also occurs when the Reader has been minimized for a while.

I just saw this bug on my laptop, but can't reproduce it...

Same problem here with Foxit. version 2.3, build 2825. After Foxit has been minimized and is brought back up again, all the toolbars are left-justified and the toolbar-area is several inches taller than it was when I manually placed all the toolbars nicely next to one another.

I noticed this when Foxit was minimized and then brought back to it's original size (simulated by clicking the application within Windows Taskbar several times). I haven't confirmed this same effect if Foxit is maximized to full screen. Also, something else seems to be a factor: either simply the passage of time, or possibly selecting another running application. Difficult to reproduce but oh so annoying when it happens (twice to me so far today).

Well, I've figured out how to reproduce it:

1. open Foxit, and scoot the toolbars around into a unique orientation
2. minimize Foxit
3. click on another application (removes focus from Foxit)
4. Ctrl-alt-delete, then click 'Lock Computer' (this locks the terminal and you need to hit ctrl-alt-delete again to allow yourself to type your user name and password)
5. log back in.
6. Foxit will be minimized just as you left it. click it in the taskbar to bring it back up.
7. Whammo! the toolbars are all left-justified. (at least on my machine......)

and what's even weirder:
8. move your mouse to the side or corner of Foxit until you are able to use the mouse to resize the application. Resize it just a tiny bit. Presto! all the toolbars are back to where they were before the funky realignment.

I have no idea why this might be happening, and if someone can confirm this, that'd be great.

Same issues!
XP Pro SP2
Adobe uninstalled prior to installing Foxit.

Also see http://www.foxitsoftware.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=7583
This is where I can duplicate this tool bar issue at will.

Thanks for helping to reproduce this. Foxit development/testing team can work on this now.

Same results as nutron75. A slight readjustment of window size snaps the toolbars back to the way they were.

I believe you can also select View>Toolbars>Reset Toolbars or hit Alt+F8 to reset the toolbars.

Has this problem been resolved? I'm still facing the same issue.

Which version you are using? It should have been fixed in version 2.3.4015 or later versions.
