Hi,
I am using Foxit Reader 2.3 build 2923 on Win XP SP2 and Win2k SP4 machines
Here is the problem:
1. Create a text box on a PDF page using Text box tool and use a font with phonetic transcription symbols (you may use any other font that has weird characters)
2. Export comments data to FDF.
3. Reopen the PDF
4. Reopen the FDF
5. The font name in the tool bar is the one I used while creating the text comment, HOWEVER, the font that is actually used to display the content of a text box is a regular one (Helvetica or Arial judging by the way it looks)
And it is not just looks, the important difference is that it displays regular letters when I need those special ones ;-(
6. if I activate text box tool then select the text in the text box and select another font than it changes the text box content to that other font and then I can select my original phonetic font and then I get it right
The real problem is that my FDF contains phonetic annotation for hundreads of pages and opening each one and changing it back and force is not really an option
Until you fix it I could replace that default font the reader uses to display a freshly open FDF but I am not sure which one exactly to replaace and whether it is configurable somewhere
I just looked in the registry and the TextBox Preference key for font name is set to my phonetic font ;-(.
Thank you for a nice piece of software you are working on!
