View Full Version : [Help] How to get rid of file download dialog?

I just installed Foxit Reader 2.3.2923 on a fresh install of Vista 64 Business. When I click a link to a PDF in IE7 I get the file download dialog for unknown file type with options to find, save and cancel. In Windows Explorer PDFs show as a 'PDF Document' and has the Foxit Reader icon. The 'Show file download dialog' in preferences apparantly changes nothing.

Any help on making PDFs show in IE?

Thanks,
Tinface

Hello Tinface,

Thanks for the shot. It seems the 'Show file download dialog' in preferences/internet tab doesn't work any more. I will report for processing. Report Mantis ID:0005451

The file type is unknown, I am wondering if have you associated PDF Reader with pdf file, otherwise it will not be unknown type.

I checked 'Control Panel -> Programs -> Default Programs -> Set Associations' and .pdf is not on the list. Is it supposed to be there?
As mentioned in the first post, in Windows Explorer, pdfs are recognized and opened with Foxit Reader so somewhere somehow it must be listed.

Hello Tinface,

Right click a pdf file, select Properties/Change, select Foxit Reader, Click Ok.
