When I download the Investor's Business Daily (IBD) newspaper, then "Save As" to my disk, Foxit (ver. 2.2) warns me "Sorry, saving this document is not allowed. You will only be saving a copy of the original document" and then proceeds to save it for me. Getting the message every time is a minor PITA (not present in Adobe), but I can live with it.
The problem though is that Foxit then allows me to mark up a given article with highlighter and such but the notations disappear when the file is resaved. It allows me to print them, but not save them.
I can understand not allowing one to alter the content of a security tagged document, but I don't understand not allowing one to add annotation - particularly on my own stored copy of the document, not on the original.
Is there a way around this? Or will it be changed in future?
Thanks.
Bill
