It will be ready as soon as possible.

Ok, but there is a huge problem into the web translator. It's impossible to translate a very long string. It's more easier to translate the xml file.
My translation should be ready within two days.

We have improved our translation website.
Now duplicated words are merged so that you don't have to translate them twice.
Also, after you finish, you may generate the xml file and then play it with our testing reader.

Ok, I have generated an xml file from you web translation system, but Foxit doesn't download it. What's happened?

"but Foxit doesn't download it. What's happened?"
At the moment, you must copy the xml file manually into your foxitreader directory.
They haven't uploaded the language files on server yet.

My translation is ready too.
Unfortunately your translation is unrespectful of each string of the program.
For example zoom out is more better translated with Ingrandisci, Fit Page with Adatta alla pagina and so on.
Awful translation.

Hi eagleman,
I agree with you corrections I translated the text using Adobe Reader as comparison.
This is because Foxit Reader is a replacement for Adobe Reader and I think using same text makes swapping from Adobe to Foxit easier for novice users :)
For example "Zoom in" in Adobe Reader is translated as "Zoom avanti" so I use same translation in Foxit Reader even if I think "Ingrandisci" is better and so on with all the translation :)

x eagleman:
Ingrandisci e Riduci sono tradotte al contrario nel menu strumenti dopo che hai aperto un file pdf :)
"Zoom in and out are translated reverted in tools menu after you opened a pdf file :)
PS
I tried to edit your xml file with notepad to correct zoom translation but it's not formatted line by line like my file. How can I edit it to have it look more user-friendly?

Ok, we have to unify our translations file. Don't consider the italian file made by "tree" user.
I have edited the xml file with Altova XML Spy 2006 under windows and with gedit under Linux.
Altova XML Spy is free for personal use. Download from this link:

My file is not a correction of yours. It's a totally different one.
Foxit Reader IS NOT Adobe Reader, so it's better to use a different translation.

I agree with you, it'ìs a different program, but it comes out to be Adobe Reader replacement (infact you can find a lot of same menus and functions in both Reader) so if we want users to use Foxit Reader instead of Adobe one we should keep same language translation so users can find the interface user-friendly because they already know that :)
ps
I agree with your proposal to unify our translation, please PM me so we can discuss about it by mail or on msn :)

Under Windows, I usually work with Pspad: it's a fairly good editor for programmers, free, with a compare tool.

I know it, but i want to check the file for itscorrect form, and XMLspy do this for every modified string.
It's freeware with a little email registration.

ci sono degli errori, per esempio
<menuitem id="32785" text="Riduci &\tAlt+4"/>
<menuitem id="32786" text="Ingrandisci &\tAlt+5"/>
appaiono errati perchè il link allo shortcut è messo al fondo, e così molti altri... dovrebbero essere:
<menuitem id="32785" text="&Riduci\tAlt+4"/>
<menuitem id="32786" text="&Ingrandisci\tAlt+5"/>
anche altri problemi, per esempio nel menu File, Converti e Chiudi rispondono entrambi alla lettera C
inoltre credo dovrebbe essere codificato in UTF-8 cosa che non è...

i have fixed some shortcut, but it surely needs more fixing...
UTF-8 chars should be converted to codes (&#xHEXC;) but a bug in the reader prevents that.
edits are based on Eagleman translation.

Ok, thanks for the fixing, but if there are errors into the file is not my fault.
Any cooperation about italian file is welcome.

come idea su cui si può discutere e lavorare, ho creato un TRAC qui:
https://opensvn.csie.org/traccgi/foxit_it_IT
