Why do I need to verify an image when I've logged into the forum?

Sorry for this inconvenience. The admin do this to prevent spam since we were getting so much spam.

Why should "search" require image verification? Searching does not generate spam, posting does. If anyone else is like me it can take a dozen searches before I find the term that gets me the exact information I need. Why should a paying customer with bad eyes be punished because some feature was not made clear in your manual?
If spam is a real issue then solve it the same way other forums do. One way is to automatically give posting rights to those that sign up with the email address of a paying customer.
The other is to weed out spam robots. Use the two step method. First, when someone signs up ask them a question that a robot would have trouble answering (e.g. Show a picture of a bowl of fruit and ask how many bananas there are). Then send an email requiring a response to fully activate the account.
This works. I had a forum that was choked with spam but when I added a single, one-time question that required thought all the spam ended and my users were very appreciative of being freed from the image verification.

Thanks for advice. That sounds a more postive user experience, but currently we don't enable email verification so as to relieve server delivery.

Most forums only use search page image verification for guests. Once a subscriber is logged in s/he is VERIFIED (i.e. not a bot) and can therefore browse uninhibited.
The last poster makes a good point: on a single visit to the forum I may have to search for something a good number of times until I get my terms right or whatever. Having to fill in the image verification — especially when I'm already LOGGED ON — grows old very quickly, and on some days I get fed up before finding my answer.
Don't forget that your user forum is an extension of your public image.

INSTINCTIVELY , in posting this reply I just clicked "Submit" without checking the image verification and almost closed the browser window before I realized that I was brought back here. It's SO frustrating! Change it! Please!
