So, if you have a bunch of PDF files and you want to see how they will be laid out on the new eSlick Reader is there a way to see that with any of the existing software products? Specifically I want to see how technical PDFs will render and laid out on the new reader.

The files will look the same on the eSlick device except on a smaller scale. We are currently working on a demo video of eSlick. If you want, I can take a picture of how a PDF will look on the eSlick device. Please post the file here and tell me what page and if you want it zoomed in.

I have a few questions and don't know where to direct them.
Does the eSlick have a search feature (this is a requirement for me as I'll be putting some technical books on the device and will want to search keywords occasionally)? If it does, how is typing of the search word done, does it have a touchscreen? When does the Pre-Sale discount end? I need to see how well it reformats pdfs and the above question answered before I can commit - I'm interested in seeing this covered at the CES show. Does it have a dictionary? Do you plan on adding more file support or a simple (very few steps involved) converter for Lit and Mobi files in the future? I was interested to see the new addition mentioning support at some point for at least 1 DRM format. |

I think when the eSlick devices are saled out, it will be end. (Devices are limited availability). Hi Erik, am I right? Yeah, that's a trend for us to support more files with different extentions. About the converter, I will let our developerment team know your requirement.

There is currently no search feature but this should be added in the future. There is no dictionary feature in the first eSlick but this is in the future plan also. Actually this may be implemented in eReader, but we're not quite sure yet.
There is no timeline for the eSlick devices that are discounted. There is just a limited quantity that will be sold at discount. We would love to show you the device at CES. We do plan on adding more file formats. We will keep everyone updated on this with our newsletter. The only DRM that we are likely to support at initial release is eReader format which is the largest independent DRM format for ebooks. Also, for reflowing PDFs, please see our new video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN68TkQEURM Last edited by Erik_Bryant; December 31st, 2008 at 07:25 PM. |

Do you mean the Search function will be available in the first eSlick?

Search is most likely not going to be in the first eSlick.

I guess Foxit will implement search in the future. But how would users input words with the first eSlick given the limited number of buttons?

Users can use the soft keyboard that build in the reader.
