Default Foxit/Opera/Unable to open files

Using the old version of Foxit with Opera and no problems as an alternative reader. The last few weeks kept getting a pop up after document finished loading from Foxit saying something about (Usage) Password, register, non register etc. After clicking pop up the documnet apparently closes. Can't open any PDF docs form the net though it would open documents on my HD without problems. Upgraded to 3.0 same problem. Declined toolbar. Could this be part of my problem? Used Foxit flawlessly for over a year with no problems until now. Any help appreciated.

Odd issue! I suppose the pop up message is Reader commandline usage. If not, please make an image screenshot for us.

1. What's your operation system?
2. Please try opening pdfs from within your desktop via Opera to see if you'll get the message.
3. If you have Firefox, please try opening pdfs within it to see if have the same problem
4. If possible, please reinstall Opera to see if it helps.

Thanks for your time and will answer your questions the best i can.

Will assume it is the coomandline usage popup...Don't have the knowledge to provide a screen shot.

1.Using XP SP 3, Opera 9.63
2. Not sure what you mean by opening pdf from desktop using Opera. Opera will not open a pdf in any form or fashion. Can save a pdf to desktop using Opera, but must use Foxit to open the PDF, that is right click open with Foxit.
3. Firefox opens the pdf's with Foxit flawlessly thereby identifying Opera as the souce of the problem. Not Foxit.

Will post my problem on the Opera forum for a possible solution, but let me provide you with another popup from Foxit that might help identify the problem.

Opera has the option to "Pass web address directly to the application". When this option is checked and i click a pdf link from Opera i get the following error popup from Foxit:

Foxit Reader

C:\Documents and Settings\Douglas\http:\www.xxx.org.etc\doc\sample.pdf
Could not open file
File not found

Hope this last item helps you identify the problem, At any rate thanks once again for your time.

Where can I find this option "Pass web address directly to the application" in Opera?

For usage popup, we simply could not make it occur in our part. Could you recall any settings you had made to change with Opera?

In Opera 9.63: Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Downloads>Application/pdf>Edit(File type)>Open with other application>Pass web address directly to application.

After posting have found a satisfactory solution to my problem. Was getting the warning popup with Adobe set as my default pdf reader, but selecting to read the file in Foxit. Made Foxit my default reader and now the pdf files are opening without any problems. Apparently Opera can't handle two pdf readers.

Thank you for your patience and time. Foxit is rocking once again.
