Thumbs down

The downloaded italian language does insert those absolutely unuseful and ugly ampersands at the end of each entry. See for example:

Bad
Code:
<popup id="|0|0" text="Imposta Stato(&S)">
<popup id="|0|0|0" text="Revisione(&R)">
<menuitem id="10018" text="Nessuno(&N)" />
<menuitem id="10000" text="Accettato(&A)" />
....
Good
Code:
<popup id="|0|0" text="I&mposta Stato">
<popup id="|0|0|0" text="&Revisione">
<menuitem id="10018" text="&Nulla"/>
<menuitem id="10000" text="&Accettato"/>
...
Please compare the downloaded italian file with the one i sent to this Forum to see the difference (no need to speak italian to see how the UI looks like :-) )

Beside this, the downloaded italian language is absolutely inaccurate, fullfilled of mistakes, typos, errors, and maybe even automatically translated strings.

In other words, it is totally messed up! :-((

Well, how can the adequate language files then been downloaded?

By visiting the appropriate thread in this sub-forum?

Please note, that e.g. the German translation file available in this manner was updated some when in August 2008.
I guess, it will be for some older version than Reader 3.0 Build 1301.

From the point of view of localizations the Adobe Reader is unfortunately still better, houndred times. Their's localization process is not volunteer based. Most localizations are in most cases immediately available after reader new version appears. They are of good quality and without gaps.
Also regarding multi-user environment the Adobe reader is much better. No probs with vista UAC, no probs while using on account with restricted access privileges.

Thanks for your posting here.

You can download languages file at web-based languages system: http://languages.foxitsoftware.com/login.php

For the multi-user environment, we are working hard to improve it in this aspect. But I don't think Adobe has no problems with vista UAC, just search via webiste, you could find instances.

thanks for your quick answer.
Whar are the access data being requested there?
Same as for this forum?
Of Foxit Reader registered users? For payed versions only, or for the Free Foxit Reader as well?

How can be this URL reached by navigating from http://www.foxitsoftware.com/?
I think it would be good to have a link to this place on the foxitsofware web page.

No they don't share the login data. You have to create a new account for it. But if downloading file is your main purpose, just click on Guess to enter into.

Well, needed translation files downloaded.
But where are the instructions regarding installation procedure for downloaded translation files?

Foxit should not made the download. Instead of this
the administrator is expected to place the wished
translation file in required directory.
But what is the required directory for placing translation files?
