【Question】 Item icons not showing up

After installing foxit pdf ifilter on a 64 bit windows server 2008 machine, pdf's are indexed fine, but i have lost all item icons in the search results. not just pdf icons, but also html, doc, etcetera. these were displaying fine this morning, before the installation.

the server is hosting three MOSS sites, this occurs in all the sites, no changes have been made to the xsl in the search result webpart.

in the source the image tag is also empty: img src="" border="0" alt="Itempictogram" /

however when adding file types to the ssp search settings, the icons are found and displayed so the settings in docicon.xml must be okay.

i have disabled and stopped the IIS admin service prior to installation, after this set it back to automatic and performed iisreset. i did this three times so this can't be it.

any ideas?

We validated the docicon xml in visual studio, checked and rechecked it, and all seemed well.
In a last attemt i took the xml file from our test environment and used that one and hey presto, it worked. perhaps a misplaced tab??

anyhow, check and re-check your docicon.xml. even if you're sure it's not the problem. (like i was. :) )

The icon does not show it maybe cause the sentence of <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.gif"/>.
1) Maybe you do not add it between <Bytension> </Bytension>.
2) The "V" of "Value" should be capital, but you maybe write it by small letter.

Ive installed Orange on MEPIS linux a debian variant.
But the toolbar icons are not showing up. netither are any of the icons that are put on the canvas.
what could be the problem?
